(NRH1) Non-Riding Helper Certificate Course
This Certificate course has been designed as an introduction to horses for people who are green in their knowledge and handling skills around horses. You might be THE partner to your more experienced other half who often or sometimes asks you to handle their pride and joy but you are shit scared of getting into trouble.
You might be someone who cant ride or dosnt want to ride but loves the horses and wants to be involved at some level.
Joining us for this class will give you:
• Basic understanding of the horses body parts
• An understanding of, and how to work with, the
different personalities of the horse
• Basic understanding of feeding
• Basic handling skills so you can have the confidence to
rug, drench, lead and catch
• You will receive my own specially developed diary for
all the important information thrusted apon you
• Understanding of Basic first aid
• Understanding of Body Language
• Understanding of how to Pick up feet and shoeing preparation
• An understanding of, and how to work with, the
different personalities of the horse
• Ways to teach the horse to be caught, lead, tie, stand
quietly, float willingly and calmly
• Skills to teach the horse to come off pressure.
• The skills to have the horse confident to rug, drench
and trim, and be handled by vets and other specialists
This class will be conducted indoors for theory and outdoors for practical using a horse that is provided.
Men, women and kids (over10yrs) are welcome to this class.
(NRH2-4) Non-Riding Helper/Handler Horsemanship Classes
Development stages 2-4
Helpers and handlers are a wonderful support system to the people that ride at your club/stable. You people are the glue that hold the whole opporation together on a daily basis. Although you may not ride, you would like to know how to handle horses more safely and communicate with them more effectively and would like to play a more proactive role in the development of the ground work training that leads into the ridden.
Joining us for these classes will give you:
• The skills to have your horses confident and well mannered from the ground
• An understanding of, and how to work with, the different personalities of the horse
• Ways to teach the horse to be caught, lead, tie, stand quietly, float willingly and calmly
• Skills to teach the horse to come off pressure.
• An understanding of, and how to work with, the different personalities of the horse
• Ways to teach the horse to be caught, lead, tie, stand quietly, float willingly and calmly
• Skills to teach the horse to come off pressure.
• The skills to have the horse confident to rug, drench and trim, and be handled by vets and other specialists
• The skills and understanding to use ground work and round yard work to prepare the horse for riding or driving
• The skills to saddle and bridle correctly and calmly
• The ability to build the horse's confidence and calmness in everything you ask of them
• The skills to intoduce spooky objects to the different personalities of the horse
This class will be conducted indoors for theory and outdoors for practical using your own horse.
(PHDC) Progressive Harness Driving Classes
Stages of development 1-4 ****
The Harness Driving Classes are designed for the recreational driver wanting to get solid with their skills and communication. The competitive person wanting to get strarted or looking for a winning edge will also get loads of benifits by attending. These classes are great for green horses and aged horses acting like they are young or just needing continued work. The driver already needs to be comfortable in the snaffle bit and can boast at least a few good years of continues driving. All aspects of the round yard and ground work will also be covered.
The course material starts with covering a ground skills section aimed at helping course participants develop simple skills that will help to develop a horse's self-confidence and respect. As you progress through the stages of development, bridging the gap between ground control and ridden skills will feature highly during your journey. The driven component of the course will give course participants a skill set and an understanding of horses that will help to resolve issues from saddling and gearing up to riding/driving
at all gaits. This course will mostly be a morning ground skills session and driven in the afternoon.
Working through the stages will give you:
• The skills to have your horses confident and well mannered from the ground
• An understanding of, and how to work with, the different personalities of the horse and how to develop a stratagy to problem solve
• Ways to teach the horse to lead, tie, stand quietly, float willingly and calmly
• Skills to teach the horse to come off pressure.
• The skills to have the horse confident to rug, drench and trim, and be handled by vets and other specialists
• The skills and understanding to use ground work and round yard work to prepare the horse for riding or driving
• The ability to build the horse's confidence and calmness in everything you ask of him
• The skills and understanding to mouth the horse so that the horse maintains confidence as well as understanding the meaning of the reins
• The ability to have the horse move confidently and willingly forward upon request
• The skills to teach the horse to follow the direction set by the driver with confidence
• The skills to develop the horse's confidence to go with the driver in a variety of situations
• The skills to improve your horse's impulsion with ridden/driving exercises aimed at improving straightness

(PMHMS) Progressive Modern Horsemanship Classes
Stages of development 1-4 ****
The Modern HMS classes are a mixture of cowboy and modern day natural influences from all around the world. MHMS is designed for the recreational rider wanting to get solid with their skills and communication. The competitive person wanting to trouble shoot or looking for a winning edge will also get loads of benifits by attending. These classes are great for aged horses acting like they are young or just needing continued work. The rider already needs to be comfortable in the snaffle bit and can boast at least a few good years of continues riding undersaddle. All aspects of the round yard and ground work will also be covered and all disciplines are wlecome.
The course material starts with covering a ground skills section aimed at helping course participants develop simple skills that will help to develop a horse's self-confidence and respect. As you progress through the stages of development, bridging the gap between ground control and ridden skills will feature highly during your journey. The ridden component of the course will give course participants a skill set and an understanding of horses that will help to resolve issues from saddling and mounting to ridding at all gaits.
This course will mostly be a morning ground skills session and ridden in the afternoon.

(PFHMS) Progressive Foundation Horsemanship for Young Horses of
any discipline or breed ****
Foundation HMS have been designed for the young green horse with little handling, but also aged horses acting like they are young are also welcome. You might have just bought a TB off the track or bought a horse that you arent real sure about and was wanting some clarity around. The rider already needs to have had some time in the saddle and have owned a horse previous to this clinic to get the most out of this weekend. All aspects of round yard work and ground control will be covered and the horses that can be ridden on the day will be, but this isnt a colt starting class.
The course material starts with covering a ground skills section aimed at helping course participants develop simple skills that will help to develop a horse's self-confidence and respect. As you progress through the stages of development, bridging the gap between ground control and ridden skills will feature highly during your journey.
